Weekend prompt
Go make something with your hands.
This note is just a quick follow-up on our last post to say this: The very best thing I did this week was allow myself to follow through on the inspiration seeded by those beautiful handprinted calendars. I sketched and carved a few new stamp designs, inked and printed somewhat seasonal choices on twelve sheets of watercolor paper, zipped that rotary perforation cutter through each one, stamped out the letters for the months, then drew the calendar grids and postcard rules by hand with a satisfying amount of persnicketiness, though no perfection.
Along with current events, my to-do list is particularly stressful right now, and this bit of focused creativity was just the meditative detour I needed to quiet some of the noise. If that resonates with you, too, take this as your reminder to carve out some time this weekend to get out of your head and into your hands.
After you sugar up the neighborhood ghouls and goblins tonight, that is.

If you’re not careful you’re going to inspire me to craft a thing.
These would make most excellent holiday gifts. Just sayin' ;-)
